Bio

I discovered my interest in 3d at about 14/15. Before that I always wanted to be an actor or was fascinated by robots (I still am) and building them out of dead rc cars, cardboard boxes and alot of duct tape. My parents unsure of how to help me, sent me to a summer camp of the arts for 3 weeks where they did everything from mini movies and dancing to 2d animation and crafts. When I got there I immediately got involved with a little movie they were working on with the rest of the kids. I remember one night walking by a little side office and seeing some dim light coming through the windows in the door. I quietly looked inside and saw this guy working on a 3d scene. I got so curious about it that the next day I snuck in, turned the machine on and tried to work the program but didn’t know what to do. The guy working the previous night caught me in there and told me I could have just asked him to show me. So he did, and during the rest of my time at the camp, I became completely obsessed with the program which was Lightwave. With his help I ended up creating a scene with a robot and some little spaceships flying through space and fighting. On the last day, all the parents who came to pick up their children were led into a large auditorium with a projector where all their children’s little movies and 2d stick animations were shown after each child presented it. Turns out my 3d animation was the first time anything like that had been done there and the parents were apparently very impressed with what I had done and stood up to clap for me when I went on stage. I knew right then and there that I wanted to do 3d for the rest of my life. My parents went out and bought me a computer and Truespace afterwhich I sat with the manual for weeks learning all I could. While I was in high school, I was accepted at NYU Center for Advanced Technologies as their first 3d intern after they had seen my portfolio. I got hired right after my internship thus starting my 3D career. Since then I have had the privilege of working at Shadows In Darkness and Tronic Studio, and am currently employed at Bethesda Softworks as a character artist.

I have an excellent understanding of 3D Studio Max, Photoshop, Zbrush and After Effects. I have a very good understanding of Maya as well. I have a strong understanding of anatomy and find creating characters and creatures an incredibly rewarding experience. I also enjoy creating vehicles but find enjoyment doing 3D in general. I have always loved animation and have some experience with that as well and that is probably why I enjoy doing creatures/characters. I have always felt the two almost go hand in hand. I love creating strong images, but I get very excited when I see something I have built come to life when it is animated. I am very good at problem solving and have always made it a priority of mine to have answers to questions other artists might have. I am also a highly motivated, high energy, and able to adapt to new solutions and work well under pressure. I am able to lend a critical eye and technical knowledge to meet any teams needs in a constructive and positive manner.

Due to contractual obligations, I cannot show some of the professional work I have done, on this site, but please feel free to contact me for my resume or more samples of my work. I am currently freelancing and am available for work. I would also be interested in a full-time position should the right opportunity present itself.
